‘A wrecker family’: Tulsa community mourns tow truck owners killed in dispute over vehicle
TULSA, Okla. – The funeral was held Thursday for Mike and Mary Moore, theTulsa couple shot and killed at their tow truck business. Police say the two were murdered by a man who argued with them over retrieving his car from their business.
Dozens of tow truck drivers show up in support
More than 60 tow truck drivers attended the service at Life Church-Catoosa, then led a procession to the funeral home. All the trucks had their lights on and honked their horns as they left the church in honor of the couple.
The Moores owned Mike’s Towing, located at Pine and Garnett. Former employees attended the service, along with other tow truck drivers who knew the couple — and some who never met them at all. Drivers say they wanted to support their own community because they all face the same dangers on the job.
