TULSA, Okla. — The investigation into mass graves from the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre is continuing.
The City of Tulsa and field experts started their sixth round of investigations at Oaklawn Cemetery.
“I think of my grandparents and our community members who lost family, friends, and neighbors who they never saw again on top of the tragedy that they themselves endured,” said Brenda Nails-Alford, Descendent Representative. “It is such an honor to stand here in this day and time to represent them and just let them know it was not all in vain. This is hard work, but it is hard work that is so much needed. This is a very integral part of the history of Greenwood and Black Wall Street.”…
