Tulsa Public Schools investigating assault involving bus driver

TULSA, Okla. — A video sent from an anonymous source shows what appears to be an adult punching a Tulsa Public School’s bus driver.

It’s hard to make out what is being said, but what can be clearly seen are punches being thrown.

“I think that was not cool,” said April Miller, a TPS parent.

TPS school officials say campus police are investigating the incident that happened last Friday at John Hope Franklin Elementary School.

“It is promoting violence. Kids are scared when they see something like that. They may not say something, but they are scared,” Miller said.

Miller says her children go to that school.

“That is wrong. I do not think that is right at all,” Miller said.

FOX23 reached out to TPS and they sent the following statement.

“The well-being of our students, teachers, and staff is paramount, and we will always be guided by the best interests of those we serve – this would include taking appropriate action to make sure that our school communities remain safe and conducive to learning. TPS Campus Police initiated an investigation following an incident where one adult individual assaulted a Tulsa Public Schools bus driver on Friday, January 19, outside of John Hope Franklin Elementary School.
