TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police say the body of Cassidy Ritchie, who has been reported missing for about a week, has been found.
Detectives served a search warrant on the vehicle recovered near the I Don’t Care Bar and Grill, off of Highway 412, where they discovered Ritchie’s body.
Detectives are working with the district attorney’s office to determine jurisdiction.
Last week, police said they suspected foul play in her disappearance and considered her husband of less than a month as a person of interest.
Lt. Brandon Watkins with TPD said they have been questioning Ritchie’s, Chris Morland, and was arrested last Thursday for extradition warrants to Texas on a separate matter.
“He’s obviously someone who could help us but so far we’re not getting the answers we need,” Watkins said.
Watkins said the couple’s relationship was described as very tumultuous.
Ritchie’s family released the following statement via Facebook.
“Our mother has been found. Unfortunately, she is no longer with us. We cannot say anything more as it is an ongoing investigation. Thank you to everyone who took the time out of their day yesterday to help search for her. Thank you to all the friends, family, and strangers who came out, and thank you to everyone who has kept us in your thoughts and prayers. Please give my family and I privacy as we deal with the grieving process.”
