TULSA, Okla. — Rose Bowl Community Center in Tulsa is coming alongside the grieving family of 39-year-old Cassidy Ritchie.
The center will host a Celebration of Life service for Ritchie on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 3 p.m. It’s located at 7419 E 11th Street in Tulsa.
Cassidy Ritchie’s kids grew up participating in the center’s after-school programs and summer camps.
The president, Joe Blankenship, is also a pastor of a neighborhood church. He will be speaking at the service.
“To be the neighbors and the family and the friends of these kids as they walk through the most painful time of their lives, we get to come alongside them relationally and say we are here, we are with you, you are not going to go through this alone,” he said.
Cassidy’s new husband, Chris Morland, has been arrested on a first degree murder charge after her body was found in the back of an SUV on Sunday.
“And I think it’s her family’s wishes to make her life count and even her death to count as a way of speaking into this this horrible issue of domestic violence,” Blankenship said.
