Bodycam Video Shows Tulsa Police Arrest Pursuit Suspect After Crash

A newly released body camera video shows Tulsa Police arresting a man accused of running from them and having guns and drugs.

Police say Christopher Weeden is a known gang member and spent more than a decade in prison for murder before he got back on the streets and began committing new crimes.

Investigators said after the arrest, Weeden admitted the gun and drugs were his and said he has run from officers before and will always run because he believes police are corrupt.

The body camera video shows Tulsa Police arresting Christopher Weeden in December and police said while they were trying to cuff Weeden, a gun fell out of his waistband.

Police said they spotted Weeden in a high-crime area of town and when they tried to pull him over for traffic violations, he took off.

Several officers were familiar with Weeden, and one even said Weeden had led them on pursuits before.

Officers searched Weeden’s car and say they found fentanyl, cocaine, scales and cash.

Records show Weeden pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2007 and served 11 years of a 15-year sentence. Police say Weeden had several felony warrants when they arrested him.
