City Year Tulsa gives the Golden Driller statue a new look

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa’s Golden Driller statue is now wearing a red jacket in celebration of City Year Tulsa’s 10-year anniversary of partnering with Tulsa Public Schools.

City Year Tulsa has been working toward improving education outcomes and advancing student potential with more than 450 AmeriCorps members impacting over 22,000 students in the past decade.

“We are extremely proud of the success of this program and our AmeriCorps members in the Tulsa community,” said Paul Davis, executive director of City Year Tulsa. “Our passion is to help students reach their full potential and expand their opportunities post high school education.”

City Year Tulsa works with AmeriCorps volunteers and TPS educators to bridge curriculum development, expand needed programs, sustain program innovations, and support overall career preparation for students at 19 TPS schools.
