TULSA, Okla. — A New Leaf in Tulsa spent the day spreading the Valentines spirit through their handmade bouquets.
“They are delivering hundreds of bouquets throughout the community to people who have ordered their sweetie valentines from us,” said Maranda Figueroa, chief development officer at A New Leaf.
Figueroa said in the last five days alone they’ve had more than 500 deliveries.
“Primarily it’s our clients doing the delivering along with their job coaches, but we do have volunteers helping us out as well. This has been our biggest year to date,” said Figueroa.
Figueroa said events like these help the community see the work they do every day.
“It’s a fantastic way for us to engage with the community they love. Just seeing the look on people’s faces when the get that special delivery” said Figueroa.
April Watts has worked at a new leaf for five years. This is one of her favorite events.
“I wanted to come down here and start working with flowers and I’ve found so much joy in it” said Watts.
