Memorial ride held in Claremore for man killed in motorcycle crash in Tulsa

CLAREMORE, Okla. — A memorial ride was held in Claremore on Friday in honor of Alexandre Escobar who was killed in a motorcycle crash on September 15 in Tulsa.

Riders gathered at the Route 66 Sports Bar in Claremore on Friday, which used to be a frequent hang-out spot for Alex, according to an organizer of the ride.

Jake Browne, who led the memorial ride for Alex, is also a motorcycle safety advocate.

“It’s something we need to be very aware of, it’s an epidemic. As a matter of fact, scouting for tonight’s event about 20 minutes ago, I was nearly hit head-on,” Browne said.

Browne said he’s lost eight people that he knew in the past year of riding.

“I’m going on three memorial rides this weekend for people who were lost in the last month. Two of them left very young children,” Browne said.

He said if he could stress anything to anybody, he would tell them that taking five seconds to look might save someone’s life.

Browne described Alex as an avid motorcyclist who loved his bike.
