Police identify suspect in QuikTrip security guard shooting

UPDATE (9/23/24) — The Tulsa Police Department identified the suspect who shot a security guard in the foot during an altercation at a QuikTrip Saturday night.

Police say an officer was pulling into the QuikTrip at West 15th Street and South Denver Avenue around 9:00 p.m. when he was flagged down by an employee.

The employee said the security guard was in a fight with someone who was kicked off the property. As the officer found the two fighting, a gunshot went off.

Police say 41-year-old Brian Logan was causing a disturbance in the store and was asked to leave. As Logan was leaving, he ran at the security guard and drop-kicked him to the ground.

Logan and the security guard were fighting on the ground, when they started fighting over the guard’s pistol.

The pistol was shot and hit the security guard in the foot. The TPD officer who was now on scene pulled his gun out and pointed it at Logan, police say.

Logan complied and was taken into custody.

Police say the security guard had a non-life-threatening injury and choosing to prosecute Logan.
