1 arrested after north Tulsa police chase ends in ditch

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police arrested a man they said led officers on a chase before driving into a ditch and hiding in a bush in north Tulsa Friday night.

Police said just after 10 p.m. Friday, officers responded to Pine and Garnett for reckless driving reports.

An officer saw a White Dodge Challenger failing to maintain it’s lane and tried to pull the driver over, who drove off. Police said after a short chase that lasted under a minute, the driver went off-road into a ditch and then hid in a bush.

Officers found and arrested the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jamariea Thomas. Police said Thomas admitted to street racing.

Thomas was booked into Tulsa County Jail on multiple charges including felony eluding, leaving the scene of an accident, trespassing and traffic offenses.
