Jewish community in Tulsa react to Iran’s missile attack on Israel

TULSA, Okla. β€” The war in the Middle East is ramping up with Iran unleashing what the Israel Defense Forces is calling the largest ballistic missile attack in history.

Those missiles targeted Israeli security and military.

This attack came in response to Israel’s killing of Hezbollah’s leader and others in Lebanon recently.

Here in Green Country, members of the Jewish community are reacting to Tuesday’s attack.

FOX23 spoke with the executive director of the Jewish Federation of Tulsa, Joe Roberts.

He said this attack is putting millions of Jewish and Arab lives at risk.

“It has been frightening. Everyone here kind of went in to panic mode and action and contacting everyone they knew to make sure friends and family are safe. Really our concern is what comes next,” Roberts said.

Roberts said while frightening to witness, Tuesday’s attack was unfortunately not a shock.

β€œAll of this is of course not happening in a vacuum. This started almost a year ago and it has been a seven-front war that Israel has been facing all led by the Islamic Republic of Iran and pushing towards the destruction of the State of Israel,” Roberts said.
