Annual Cattle Baron’s Ball raises money for American Cancer Society

BIXBY, Okla. — The 18th annual Cattle Baron’s Ball raised vital funds to allow the American Cancer Society to provide vital services for those fighting cancer in Oklahoma.

“We are having our Cattle Baron’s Ball, which is the largest single night fundraiser at the American Cancer Society,” shared Dana Harris, Senior Business Development Manager for the American Cancer Society in Oklahoma. “During the event…we raise money for Access to Care Oklahoma, which goes directly to helping people who are having problems financially get transportation and lodging while they’re doing their treatments. So while they’re doing that, every single penny stays right here in Oklahoma.”

Harris said it’s been incredibly special to see the Cattle Baron’s Ball grow every year and to see the impact it has on the community.

“It’s so exciting to do this every single year just to see the new people that come in, the new sponsors and the excitement that we have, so it’s a blessing to be able to do this for people here in Oklahoma. I mean, I meet people just randomly throughout the stores grocery shopping and things like that, and you hear their stories and you know what we’re doing impacts them. To be able to know that the hours that you spend planning and doing an event will literally change their lives really makes it all worthwhile.”
