TULSA, Okla. — The street widening project planned for East 91st Street between South Mingo Road and South Memorial Drive is set to start Jan. 16.
The project plans to widen East 91st Street to five lanes and will be adding bike lanes and sidewalks to both sides of the road.
During the initial phase of construction set to last about two weeks, crews will be clearing debris and vegetation from the roadside. Afterwards, construction will begin and lanes will be reduced and possibly closed as construction advances.
Throughout the project, access to neighborhoods and businesses in the area will remain open. Blue business access signs will be used to guide traffic to various businesses in the area.
The project also plans to repave the roadway, upgrade storm water drainage, upgrade traffic lights and upgrade waterlines.
For those interested in learning more about the project, a neighborhood meeting is being held on Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Hardesty Regional Library.
At this time, construction is expected to be completed by January 2027.
