Oklahoma Spring Storms: Tulsa Faces High Wind and Thunder Threat Near I-44 Starting Thursday

Tulsa, OK – A volatile spring pattern returns to Oklahoma starting Thursday, bringing thunderstorm threats and fire danger to Tulsa and surrounding areas along I-44.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa warns that periods of thunderstorms will develop late Thursday and continue into the weekend, especially near and southeast of I-44. Isolated storms are expected Thursday night, increasing in coverage by Friday. Winds could gust up to 25 mph, further raising fire risks in northeast Oklahoma.
