Rogers County seeks federal grant to enhance safety on rural roads

TULSA, OKLA (KTUL) — Rogers County Emergency Management is working to secure federal funding to make the County’s rural roads safer.

“We have to have our preliminary action plan finished by May 9th of this year for review, with the application being submitted no later than June 26th of this year, of which, if we’re approved, then we’ll get the funds within the next 12 months, and we’ll have five years to complete the projects,” said Carl Statton, the Grants Financial Manager at Rogers County Emergency Management.

To secure this grant, the county needs to develop a comprehensive safety action plan designed to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries over the next five years and beyond…
