New fentanyl mixture discovered by TPD’s forensic lab raising concerns for local nonprofits

TULSA, Okla. — A new fentanyl mixture discovered by the Tulsa Police Department’s forensic lab is raising concerns for local nonprofits that help people with addiction.

The Tulsa Police Department (TPD) said this new fentanyl mixed with medetomidine isn’t responsive to overdose reversal drugs like Narcan.

The Tulsa Day Center said after finding out the new fentanyl mixture doesn’t respond to Narcan, it’s now learning how to adapt moving forward with this new strain…
