Longtime Route 66 photographer David J. Schwartz will debut his newest fine art exhibition, “Nurtured by the Mother Road,” at Buck Atom’s Cosmic Curios on 66 in Tulsa on May 24.
The show opens with a meet-the-artist event on Saturday, May 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. and will feature a collection of Schwartz’s work that celebrates the iconic giants, signage, motels and spirit of Route 66.
At the heart of the exhibition is a series of 12 limited-edition 16-by-20-inch framed prints, each capturing a different facet of Route 66’s allure. The works range from cinematic road shots and golden-hour motel glow to surreal roadside attractions and poetic moments of solitude.
” Whether it’s the iconic neon of the Munger Moss Motel at dusk, the grit and grace of a weathered pickup truck at sunrise, or the dreamlike stretch of pavement winding toward Arizona’s San Francisco Peaks, each image invites the viewer to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the rhythm of the open road.
