TULSA, Okla. — Police said a man was arrested after trying to break into an east Tulsa apartment on Friday. Tulsa Police said officers responded to an apartment complex near East 21st Street and South 129th East Avenue for a call about a burglary in progress around 4:45 a.m. According to police, the victim said a large man she did not recognize was aggressively knocking on her door. The victim reported that when she told him to leave and yelled at him, the man tried to break the door down, Tulsa Police said. Police said the victim told officers the suspect eventually opened the door but then suddenly left the apartment complex in a blue vehicle. Tulsa Police said officers tracked down the suspect at a nearby gas station, and the victim positively identified him as Paul Rentschler. Rentschler was arrested for attempted first degree burglary.
