City of Tulsa, TPS denied grant from OK Opioid Abatement Board

TULSA, Okla. — FOX23 recently reported the the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board awarded $16.6 million in grants to several communities and school districts across the state, but the City of Tulsa and Tulsa Public Schools were seemingly denied their request.

Attorney General Gentner Drummond, who chairs the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board, recently said in a press release, the board believes the money will “provide the tools needed to save lives and strengthen communities across our state.”

FOX23 reached out to the AG’s Office and they confirmed the denial, but didn’t provide an explanation. Further information was requested but we haven’t heard back yet…
