“Kimberly Akimbo” | Tuesday-Sunday
Celebrity Attractions is kicking September off with a production of “Kimberly Akimbo.” The musical tells the story of a girl named Kim as she navigates family dysfunction, a rare genetic condition, her first crush…and possible felony charges. Peelander-Z | Wednesday
Japanese-American punk rock band Peelander-Z is headed to Whittier Bar for a show on Sept. 3. Joining them under the scums lights is Tulsa’s own Plastic Psalms and Vulgar. It’ll be a show to remember, and it all begins when doors open at 8 p.m. Don’t forget to head out back and pick up a late dinner from Pollos Asados. Tickets for the show cost $17.49. “Twisters” | Thursday
Get ready for a whirlwind of excitement as Gathering Place presents a free outdoor showing of “Twisters” on the QuikTrip Great Lawn! Get there early at 6 p.m. for a special meet and greet with severe weather teams, storm trackers tours, crafts and more. Warbirds at TASM | Thursday-Sunday
The Warbirds make their highly anticipated return to the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. Explore the inside of real WWII aircraft with guided cockpit tours of legendary warbirds—including the B-29 Superfortress “FIFI,” one of only two still flying in the world today. Attendees can meet the pilots and crew who fly these machines, as well as hear firsthand stories about their various missions. Each day, tours and demonstrations run from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission ranges from $10-$20 and includes museum access. More information here.

Neon Prairies is back again this year and adding an extra day to the lineup! On Sept. 5, festivities kick begin with a pre-party benefit (included in the price of a festival pass), featuring local and regional musicians. “Starship Troopers” | Friday-Saturday
Prepare for battle on Sept. 5-6 as the Graveyard Shift presents a special screening of “Starship Troopers” at Circle Cinema. The film has become a classic and well-remembered for its gritty satirical take on fascism. The movie tells the story of a distant future when Earth is at war with a race of giant alien insects. Cyberfest | Saturday
Dedicated solely to “outsider and fringe digital music,” Tulsa’s first Cyberfest is set for, Sept. 6 at Mass Movement. Featuring five national touring acts and five local performers, this music festival is a collaboration from the nonprofit Cult Love and artist Vulgar. CYBERFEST features a lineup of five national acts alongside five Tulsa performers. Tickets cost $20. More information here…
