FOX23 Investigates: Woodland Hills Mall sues escalator contractor after months of breakdowns

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa’s Woodland Hills Mall is taking its escalator contractor to court after months of broken escalators that shoppers said are more than an inconvenience.

Visitors have repeatedly found barricades, escalators and ‘Temporarily Out of Service’ signs.

“I first started seeing it before COVID. It was always at least one,” shopper Mark Bonney said. “It was continuously getting worse.”

FOX23 first reported in February that only half of the mall’s eight escalators were running. Follow-up visits in the springs and again in September showed some units still broken.
