Police: Man faces charges after trying to cash fraudulent check at Claremore bank

TULSA (KTUL) — A Claremore police officer and a suspect were injured when officers responded Wednesday to a report of check fraud at a bank.

The Claremore Police Department says officers were called to BancFirst at 1003 N. Lynn Riggs Blvd., regarding a reported fraud in progress. Bank staff said that a man was attempting to cash a fraudulent business check valued at approximately $4,000.

The suspect, later identified as Marques Arman Jones, had previously attempted to cash a fraudulent check at another BancFirst location in the Ne-Mar Center but was denied. A short foot chase ensued before Jones was taken into custody…
