HAGERSTOWN- An Oklahoma woman has finally been charged with arson and more following an investigation by Fire Marshals in Washington County. Katlynn Ann Waggoner is free after posting bail in June with a recent court appearance in September following charges being levied against her of felony arson first degree, felony arson second degree, felony malicious burning first degree, two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, and misdemeanor malicious destruction of property valued at $1000+.
Hagerstown Fire crews were called around 6:20pm on June 9th, 2025 for an automatic fire alarm at the Homewood Suites in Hagerstown on Pullman Lane. Hotel staff would meet firefighters, telling them that a female on the third floor was having a mental health emergency and had started a significant fire.
Fire Marshals were brought in shortly after the arrival of HFD, with them then speaking to Katlynn Waggoner of Broken Arrow, OK, the occupant of the room that had been on fire. Marshals say in court filings that “I (the marshal) made contact with a female; she began laughing at me.
