TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting that left a man dead in south Tulsa Friday night.
Police responded to a call at approximately 10:15 p.m. from Ceasar Smith, 26, at 6738 South Louisville Avenue. Police say Smith reported he had shot a man he had just met saying he was dead after making advances toward him. Smith claimed he hit the victim, James Johnson, with a gun and it went off.
Officers arrived on scene and found Johnson dead in the kitchen with a gunshot wound to the head. Smith was taken into custody and police say he provided conflicting statements at first claiming Johnson was acting erratic and waving a gun which led to a struggle when the gun accidentally went off…
