Tulsa Parks to Debut Handmade Market with Over 100 Local Artisans at Veterans Park

Tulsa Parks has announced it will be hosting its first-ever Handmade Market event this weekend at Veterans Park, providing an opportunity for over 100 local vendors to display their handcrafted goods. According to the article released by the City of Tulsa, the roster includes artisans specializing in jewelry, pottery, textiles, and various other crafts. Food trucks will complement the retail experience, promising a day of leisurely shopping and casual dining from 10 AM to 6 PM on Saturday, September 20.

Open and free to the public, the event invites people of all ages to partake in an environment that celebrates Tulsa’s creative spirit. Set within the embracing foliage of Veterans Park at 1028 E. 6th St., the market aims to stitch the fabric of the community tighter, through the shared appreciation of local art and creativity. “This is an exciting new tradition we’re starting for Tulsa,” said Anna America, Director of Tulsa Parks. Emphasizing the event’s community focus, America added, “The Handmade Market is all about celebrating our city’s makers and connecting neighbors through art, creativity, and community,” as stated by the City of Tulsa.

Furthermore, the Handmade Market arrives as a culminating gesture in the city’s month-long 918 Day festivities. Enthusiasts taking part in the 918 Day Passport Challenge will make the market their final destination. Searching through Tulsa’s destination districts, they will have gathered stamps on their Passport Cards, concluding their journey at the market. There, participants will be able to submit their filled passports and enter the 918 Day Giveaway, as reported by the City of Tulsa…
