Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler says Tulsa remains in a “middle of the pack” position compared with national crime trends, highlighting the city’s active police force and efforts to reduce gun violence.
He also discussed with News On 6 the Oklahoma Survivors Act and weighed in on the potential role of the National Guard in the city.
Crime Trends in Tulsa
Kunzweiler says Tulsa remains in a relatively strong position compared with national crime trends, despite concerns about homicides.
“So actually, I think we’re in a pretty good spot,” Kunzweiler said. “”I think we tend to be somewhat in the middle of the pack when it comes to crime statistics. We have a very active police department… I’ve seen a lot fewer of the violent crimes happening in Tulsa.”
