Tulsa City Council approves returning Council Oak Park to the Muscogee Nation

The Tulsa City Council has voted to return ownership of Council Oak Park to the Muscogee Nation, officially repatriating one of the city’s most sacred and historic sites.

Council members voted 8-0 to approve the transfer, which also includes the nearby Stickball Parks. The sites will remain open to the public under the Nation’s ownership and maintenance.
