Tulsa woman sentenced to 4 years for stealing disabled veteran’s identity
TULSA, Okla. – ATulsa woman is headed to federal prison for four years for stealing the identity of a disabled veteran in order to get his VA benefits.
Prosecutors say Monica Thompson and her boyfriend planned the scheme to take the benefits and split the money between the two of them.
WHAT HAPPENED
Prosecutors say it happened when Thompson married the victim, and her boyfriend was the officiant. That led to Thompson sending fake applications to the VA to try to control her new husband’s payments…
