TULSA, Okla. — During this month’s meeting of Tri-City Collective’s Real Talk series, panelists discussed the Muscogee Creek Nation Freedmen’s history and fight to gain citizenship for themselves and their descendants.
Over the years, this issue has garnered national attention with court cases over the last decade deciding that the Muscogee Creek Reservation still exists and affirming that treaties from the 1800s are still valid.
