OHP trooper stops wrong-way driver on Creek Turnpike

TULSA, OKLA. (KTUL) — A wrong-way driver was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after she was pulled over on the Creek Turnpike in Broken Arrow.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Saturday that the incident happened Nov. 14, when Trooper Cody Beaver was dispatched to the report of a wrong-way driver. When he arrived in the area, which was a construction zone, he spotted the wrong-way driver traveling through a closed-off section of the turnpike.

Beaver activated his lights and siren and positioned his patrol car in front of the oncoming vehicle, intending for the driver to stop before reaching him. The driver had the opportunity to stop but failed to do so, striking Beaver’s patrol car…
