TULSA, Okla. — Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond is investigating State Farm, the largest home insurance company in Oklahoma and the nation, following a surge of complaints from homeowners and contractors who say the insurer has delayed, denied or underpaid legitimate claims.
Tulsa homeowner Cassandra Spears said she’s been battling the company for nearly two years after water from a broken dishwasher caused major damage in her home. She said State Farm initially denied her claim, then paid only part of the costs.
“Water was just rolling down the walls, and mold covered everything,” Spears said. “Everything was ruined and wet.”…
