NEOK/Will Rogers Turnpike (KOAM) — Earlier Tuesday Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) released details of an illegally over-height commercial motor vehicle drove that drove from Tulsa to near Miami.
It had damaged one overpass that required the road to close.
INVESTIGATORS DISCOVER MORE BRIDGES SUFFERED DAMAGE
After more investigation Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODoT) and OTA crews determined where the truck had traveled and now can identify at least 1/2 dozen bridges that were damaged requiring more inspection and repairs.
“At this time, six bridges between SH-266 near Verdigris and east of SH-28 near Vinita are showing damage and four of the county road bridges have been closed until repairs can be made. The Will Rogers Turnpike remains open in each direction, but short, temporary closures may occur as inspections continue.”…
