Prepare for Traffic: Ongoing Roadworks to Disrupt Tulsa Commutes Through 2026

Residents and commuters in Tulsa should brace for an extended period of construction-related delays starting this week. According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, major projects are underway, including the rehabilitation of the US-75 bridge near Creek Turnpike in Jenks, set to commence at 9 a.m., on Monday and anticipated to last through fall 2026. This will narrow both the north and southbound lanes to a single lane between SH-364/Creek Turnpike and 96th St., compelling drivers to either endure likely delays or seek alternative routes.

The I-44/US-75 interchange project will continue to disrupt traffic through summer 2028. Multiple ramps and streets, including Skelly Drive between Union Ave. and Olympia Ave., 51st, and 46th Streets, are closed. Drivers are advised to use detours via I-244.
