Tulsa County Jail changes visitation policy for ministers and volunteers
TULSA COUNTY – For years, ministers and volunteers have taken faithbehind the walls of the Tulsa County Jail. News On 6 has learned the rules for jail ministry have changed — and access is now more limited.
Religious Volunteers See Change in Access
Ministers and volunteers, like Pastor Stephen Rathod of Covenant Family Church, have been visiting inmates at the jail for many years. Rathod says it was always his desire to see the most serious offenders, who may have little hope and less support.
“That’s my heart. When everybody gives up, I tell them, ‘God, Jesus will never give up on you. He has forgiven you. He will help you.’ And that’s what we are for,” said Rathod…
