Tulsa, Oklahoma – A powerful winter storm is poised to disrupt much of Oklahoma beginning Friday afternoon, bringing the threat of heavy snow, icy roads, and bitter cold that could linger through the weekend. Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly, especially Friday evening as snow intensifies across large portions of the state.
According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Friday afternoon through late Saturday night for eastern, northeastern, and southeastern Oklahoma. Snow accumulations of 4 inches or more are possible, with some areas near the Red River also facing sleet and light ice accumulation.
