“Spirited Away” | Tuesday

Tulsa Global Alliance, Tulsa Japanese Friendship Club and Circle Cinema invite you to a special 25th anniversary screening of “Spirited Away,” the classic Japanese animation film from Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli on Jan. 20. The film begins at 7 p.m. and will be presented in its original language with English subtitles. Tickets cost $12. More information here.

Travels with Tulsans | Wednesday

Travel far and wide without leaving Tulsa! Join the Friends of the Tulsa City-County Libraries for Travels with Tulsans, a lunchtime travelogue series presented by notable community members. This week’s iteration is on Jan. 21 at 12:10 and features Ann Dunagan and Ros Elder as they discuss Yellowstone National Park. Held at Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N. Hartford, attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch. Free to attend. More information here.

Pickle Canning Workshop | Wednesday

Taught by Tulsa Herb Society member and former Amish Kitchen owner, Elam Blank, this hands-on workshop will teach you to preserve food and memories. Attendees will follow step by step instructions to make their own jars of pickles during this Jan. 21 class. Hosted at Tulsa Garden Center, the workshop runs from 9-11 a.m. and tickets cost $60. “Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters” | Thursday

Chamber Music Tulsa invites you to a special evening at Circle Cinema celebrating the work of legendary composer Philip Glass with a special screening of “Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters” on Jan. 22, beginning at 7 p.m. Plan to get there at 6 p.m. though because there will be a special reception in the lobby for film buffs and music lovers alike. Community Weaving Workshop | Friday

Local fiber artist Sally C. Garner invites the community to participate in a hands-on weaving workshop and artist talk at Phillips Theological Seminary on Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m. The free event offers Tulsans the chance to learn basic weaving techniques and contribute to a collaborative installation exploring our relationship with nature and the environment. Hortonfest | Friday-Sunday

Hortonfest kicks off on Jan. 23 at Tulsa VFW with a free and all ages show featuring the likes of Seth Lee Jones, the Steepwater Band, Greg Koch and more. The festival continues the next day at Cain’s Ballroom. This annual event is in celebration of the work that Horton Records does, as well as its founder Brian Horton. More information here.

“Copland and the Wild West | Saturday

Signature Symphony continues its 2025–26 Route 66 Playlist season with “Copland and the Wild West” on Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. The concert showcases iconic works that capture the spirit of America, from the wide-open frontier to the pulse of early 20th-century city life. Held at the VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education, ticket prices range from $39-$85. More information here.

Book Bedazzling Party | Saturday

Bring, or purchase, a favorite book or journal, to turn its cover into a glittering treasure at this fun event at Tulsa’s newest bookshop FableRealm! With all supplies provided (and instructions), needed to bedazzle your book, this is a sage space to jump onto the newest TikTok trend of beautifying book covers. The class is on Jan. 24 and begins at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $25. More information here.

Symphony Sessions II | Sunday

Join acclaimed conductor and educator Mallory Thompson for the Season XX finale of Tulsa Symphony Orchestra’s Symphony Sessions, featuring Ewazen’s three-movement Symphony in Brass, followed by Mozart’s seven-movement Serenade No. 10 “Gran Partita.” Taking place at the Lorton Performance Center, this performance on Jan. 25 begins at 2:30 p.m. Tickets cost $47.50.
