Tulsa Day Center marks 40 years of serving the city’s homeless community
TULSA, Okla. – On Jan. 31, 1986, just 51 people walked into a renovated warehouse in Tulsa, seeking shelter from the cold and a way forward. That space would become the Tulsa Day Center, now a cornerstone of services for people experiencing homelessness across the city.
From a small day center to comprehensive services
Mack Haltom, CEO of the Tulsa Day Center, says the organization has changed dramatically over the past four decades.
