JENKS, Okla. — An apology was issued to students and families by Jenks Public Schools following an author presentation for fourth graders on Tuesday at Jenks East Elementary.
In a letter sent to parents, the principal of the school apologized for an author showing “inappropriate violent images.”
“This presentation did not meet the standards and expectations of East Elementary and Jenks Public Schools,” said East Elementary Site Principal Dr. Ryan Glaze. “District administrators and employees at East Elementary are reviewing this incident and will take action to ensure future content is age and grade level appropriate. East Elementary — and other school sites in the District — have hosted authors and illustrators for many years without concerns.”…
