Sapulpa Police arrest barricaded suspect on Highway 66

SAPULPA, Okla. – Police shut down State Highway 66 in Sapulpa early Sunday after officers responded to what began as a medical emergency and escalated into a barricaded suspect situation, according to the Sapulpa Police Department.

Officers were called to the 9800 block of State Highway 66 around 6:30 a.m. for a reported medical emergency. When they arrived, authorities said they discovered one of the people inside the home had outstanding tribal warrants.

Police said the man refused to come out and barricaded himself inside the house. Multiple people were inside at the time.
