Tulsa City Councilor proposes tougher penalties for street racing within city limits

TULSA, Okla.— Laura Bellis, District 4 Tulsa City Councilor, is bringing a proposal amendment for prohibiting racing in city limits that would see more direct consequences.

On Friday, Bellis posted to her Facebook that she and Tulsa Police Major McCord have been working on a city ordinance amendment proposal that would see the impoundment of vehicles used for racing.

“Racing vehicles, especially motorcycles, have resulted in so many preventable tragedies,” said Bellis. “This policy change is designed to deter and provide a very direct consequence to dangerous driving.”…
