Dogs dumped at Tulsa SPCA highlight ongoing problem in Oklahoma

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — A recent incident at the Tulsa SPCA is shining a light on the ongoing problem of dog dumping in Tulsa County, particularly in unincorporated areas where resources may be limited.

According to CEO of Tulsa SPCA Grant McCarty, a truck recently pulled into the shelter’s parking lot, dropped off several dogs, and drove away, leaving the animals to chase after it. While the dogs are now safe, McCarty says incidents like this are more common than most people realize.

“When animals are dumped, it causes friction there. We don’t encourage anyone to do what happened here. There is a proper way to do it, but first and foremost, we want to make sure these animals are taken care of,” McCarty said…
