FOX23 Investigates: Proposed bill could advance long-discussed south Tulsa bridge project

TULSA, Okla. — Plans for a new south Tulsa bridge across the Arkansas River may be a step closer to reality.

A proposed bill is making its way through the state capitol. It’s a conversation that’s been making the round for years — building another bridge to cross the Arkansas River in south Tulsa.

FOX23 told you in 2004 about talks of a new crossing, between Memorial Bridge and Jenks Bridge. The distance between the two is nearly five and a half miles.

Talks circulated again in 2019 with a proposal led by the Muscogee Creek Nation…
