Central Tech tax vote critical to meet student demand

DRUMRIGHT, Okla. – Central Tech is asking voters for a property tax increase that would pay for an expansion to meet some of the need for skilled training in high-demand fields.

Central, with campuses in Drumright and Sapulpa, has 1,200 students but needs many more slots just to meet current demand, according to Superintendent Kent Burris.

“There’s 400 kids on the wait list that will go through the pipeline and never have the opportunity to take advantage of what Central Tech has to offer. And that’s just not one time. That is every single year; there’s 400 kids,” he said…
