Tulsa City Council approves first ambulance rate increase in over a decade

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa City Council approved an ambulance rate increase for EMSA on Wednesday, which is the first increase in more than a decade.

EMSA said even though rates will increase, patients won’t see a change in what they pay since coverage typically comes through private insurance, Medicare or Medicaid, and EMSAcare.

The proposal included a $500 fee for patients treated at a scene and not taken to the hospital…
