Coweta police launch online reporting system for nonviolent incidents

COWETA, Okla. – The Coweta Police Department has launched a new online reporting system allowing residents to file reports for certain nonviolent incidents without requiring an immediate in-person officer response.

Officials said the new system, powered by LexisNexis, is available for eligible incidents that occur within Coweta city limits.

What incidents qualify for online reporting?

Police said final eligibility depends on the details of the incident and department policy.

Eligible reports may include:

  • Lost property
  • Vandalism
  • Theft
  • Insurance documentation requests
  • Other nonviolent property-related incidents

“This new system gives Coweta residents another way to report nonviolent incidents and helps our department respond more efficiently—focusing officer time where it is needed most,” Coweta Police Chief Mike Bell said in a release.

How the review process works

Reports submitted through the system will be reviewed by the department’s administrative sergeant…
