Sheriff: Man upset over not being able to file theft report makes threats

WAGONER COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — A man accused of making threats to “shoot the courthouse up” after being told he could not file a theft report at the Wagoner County Courthouse was arrested and booked into the Wagoner County Detention Center, authorities said.

On Thursday, dispatchers alerted Wagoner County deputies about threatening statements made at the Wagoner County Courthouse.

Authorities said Philip Benson was trying to file a theft report with the Wagoner County Court Clerk’s office but was advised the incident occurred within Coweta city limits, so he needed to contact the Coweta Police Department to complete a report…
