Contractor hired for demolition of fire-ravaged Centennial Mills warehouse

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A contractor has been selected to begin preparations to demolish Portland’s Centennial Mills site, where a four-alarm fire left the building at risk of collapse.

Eugene-based Staton Companies is working with Portland officials on the demolition of the property along Northwest Naito Parkway. City officials say demolition is expected to begin on Friday, Aug. 14.
