PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) says it plans to stage tow trucks and response crews along Interstate 405 during the upcoming five-week closure of southbound Interstate 5 through Portland’s Rose Quarter, aiming to quickly clear crashes or disabled vehicles as traffic is expected to surge.
The southbound I-5 closure begins at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, and is expected to last at least five weeks.
