Multnomah Falls trail to close Sept. 14 morning for search and rescue training

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — On Monday, Sept. 14, volunteers with Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue will conduct training at Multnomah Falls.

“During the training, Larch Mountain Trail No. 441 will be temporarily closed from the trailhead at the plaza to the top of Multnomah Falls from 6 a.m. through midafternoon as a safety precaution for the public and volunteers,” the Forest Service said.

“We are grateful to the volunteers of PNWSAR for their ability and willingness to remove trash from places we can’t easily or safely access,” said Josh Daker, recreation manager for the USDA Forest Service’s Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. “This training event helps keep this destination pristine for future visitors.”…
